Joan R. Rycraft, PhD. is a Professor Emerita at the University of Texas at Arlington, School of Social Work, and former Associate Dean and Director of the PhD. Program. She is a Sr. Faculty Associate of the UTA-SSW Center for Child Welfare and has also been named a Distinguished Fellow in Adoption and Child Welfare by the National Council For Adoption. Dr. Rycraft received her BA in Social Work at California State University, Chico in 1968. After receiving her BSW, she worked as a Social Worked for over 20 years in Merced, Mendocino, and Shasta Counties. Dr. Rycraft continues to serve children, youth and families by serving on the Jackson County (OR) Citizen’s Review Board.
