Reed Applegate Art Scholarship

The Reed Applegate scholarship recipient must be majoring in studio art, with a emphasis in painting printmaking, or ceramics/sculpture. Recipients must demonstrate a consistent dedication to creating art, a strong desire for expression through their chosen medium, and a commitment to maintaining a lifelong interest in art.

Reed Applegate enjoyed a career in graphic design and advertising, and has been a long-term research volunteer for the Janet Turner Print Museum. He is a passionate art collector, focusing on northern California artists, and frequently loans pieces for exhibitions at the Turner and many other local museums. Reed is a generous supporter of local arts member. Reed is a fixture on the Chico State Campus, as his dedication to scholarly research on behalf of The Turner collection brings him to the library and gallery several times a week. He is a great supporter of art and art education and wishes to assist and celebrate students who reflect his dedication to a life in art.
