Frank Pennington Memorial Scholarship

  • Students accepted in a teaching credential program for math or science
  • Minimum overall undergraduate gpa 3.5
  • To be awarded to a high caliber, bright, capable, deserving student who has shown a strong interest in the teaching profession of mathematics or science. Recipient should have the potential to make a difference as a high school science or mathematics teacher.

Dr. Frank Pennington was Dean of the College of Natural Sciences from 1969 until 1977 and was a Professor in the Department of Chemistry until he retired in 1986. He and his wife Marcia have always been concerned with the quality of high school science and mathematics teaching. It is their hope that this scholarship would increase the caliber of teachers in these fields.
