Gordon James Van Laan Memorial Scholarship

1) Upper-division Agriculture student with a demonstrated interest in Plant Science broadly defined to include:
a. production, storage, and marketing of fruits, vegetables, grains, floriculture, and nursery crops
b. landscaping and land management in plant production
c. research and/or education (either public of professional) in Plant Science as specified in item 1.a.
2) Minimum overall gpa 2.5
3) Financial Need
If a student meeting the requirements above cannot be identified in any academic year, the scholarship will not be awarded.
If a program, option, or degree in Ornamental Horticulture is instituted at CSU, Chico, the scholarship will be awarded to a declared OH student.

This scholarship was established in memory of Gordon James VanLaan to support students who demonstrate an interest in plant science including production, storage and marketing of fruits, vegetable, grains, floriculture and nursery crops; landscaping and land management in plant production; research and/or education in plant science. The campus arboretum was dedicated in March 1982 to Dr. Gordon James Van Laan.
