Jeanette Hauser was a strong, sweet, beautiful young woman who worked very hard toward her goals, but who also took the time to stop and smell the flowers, and gather up bouquets to share with everyone around her. Early in the course of her education, she decided to pursue a career in electronics technology. Although the subject did not come easily to her at first, she approached this challenging major as she did everything in life‚Äîwith great spirit. In her final year, she made many gains in her understanding of electronics and achieved a solid academic standing. Jeanette blossomed at Chico State where the stimulating intellectual life and the beautiful environment were well-suited to her personality. She was active outside of class, hiking and biking in the park, swimming and enjoying nature, learning to dance and attending cultural events. Tragically, she died in 1986 before completing her degree in Industrial Technology. She was well loved by her professors, and her family and friends will never forget her cheerful determination and her happiness in Chico. Jeannette’s family and friends established this scholarship to remember her and to honor her spirit, by providing support to students pursuing a degree in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering and Sustainable Manufacturing.
