Luke Pedemonte Memorial Scholarship

• Must be participating in a study abroad program during the academic year the scholarship is disbursed. (FASO will verify)
• First preference for a student majoring in Recreation and Parks Management but not required to award.
• Strong preference for those who:
• participate in environmental sustainability efforts,
• demonstrate kindness and compassion,
• have overcome challenges, and who possess a drive to endure, no matter what obstacles they face
  Recipient will be asked to provide a thank you letter and a brief update about his or her experience while studying abroad.

Luke’s year studying in New Zealand opened his eyes to many wonderful things, especially the interconnectedness of us all. The fact that Luke overcame health challenges and was able to study and travel overseas was life-changing. This scholarship is for a student who has overcome challenges and who demonstrates kindness, compassion and the drive to endure no matter the obstacle. It’s available to Chico State students who wish to study abroad.
