• Journalism major, News Editorial option.

• Minimum overall gpa 3.0,

• new transfer or continuing junior or senior.

• Applicant interested in and well-suited to starting journalism career at a newspaper that exclusively covers a smaller community.

• Can, but need not, demonstrate financial need.

This scholarship recognizes the outstanding, lifelong commitment of Mark and June McMahon to community journalism. The McMahons both earned journalism degrees and owned several community newspapers in the West and Southwest.
