Kurt Stai Scholarship

  This scholarship was established in 1997 by the family and friends of Kurt Stai. Kurt was a graduate in 1996 of the Department of Religious Studies of California State University, Chico. He went on to attend the Lutheran Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina and to prepare for ordination into the ministry. He was killed tragically in a traffic accident on ice-covered roads in California during his first Christmas break from Seminary in January 1997. As a way to perpetually honor and remember him, his family , friends, members of Faith Lutheran Church, and faculty, staff, and students of the Department of Religious Studies have established this memorial scholarship fund.
