  The Dixie Bell Scholarship is a memorial for Dixie Bell, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics who began her association with the department as a reentry student. After her death in 1989, Ms. Bell’s family, friends, and students established this award as a means of providing support and recognition to promising reentry students majoring in mathematics or statistics.
