Mitchell A. Padula Memorial Scholarship

• Major: Mechanical Engineering
• Preference: overall GPA range 2.0 to 2.5 (may consider gpa up to 3.0 if no eligible applicants 2.5 or below)

  The intention is to support students majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Established in memory of Mitchell A. Padula. Mitch was a mechanical engineering major with a minor in manufacturing.
Mitch’s dedication to his studies was balanced by his commitment to the community and his devotion to the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers. He was a member of the Chico Breakfast Lions Club and officiated local high school softball and basketball. As a high school basketball official he was a member of the Chico section championships and five state championships; however, Mitch looked forward to his annual refereeing of the Special Olympics most of all. His work with senior softball provided Mitch with a bonus family who dearly loved their ump. He was hiking with friends when he slipped into the river which swept him over Feather Falls.
