William Cody received his nursing degree at Chico State University, graduating in May 1980. He went to work at U. C. Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, shortly thereafter, and spent the next twelve years in a very satisfying career until his untimely passing on February 3, 1993. Bill worked in several areas at the Medical Center, but he preferred the recovery room. He was noted for his caring and thoughtfulness for all people and was very proud and dedicated to his profession.
It is the intention of Bill’s family that this memorial will help other inspiring nurses carry on his work. Bill was very supportive of the California Nurses Association and worked for the betterment of nurses’ rights and conditions. Bill was also involved in and supportive of his church, the pro-life movement, the plight of the American Indian, and various political causes he hoped would improve the well-being of mankind.
