Moyna Rourke Public Relations Scholarship

• Major: Journalism; Option Public Relations.

• Sophomore or junior.

• Minimum overall gpa 3.0.

• Must have completed minimum of 12 units in the major at the time of the scholarship.

• Preference to be given to PR majors who participate in professional experiences via campus clubs and/or activities especially as they relate to public relations.

Moyna Rourke (Milo), mother of a former Journalism professor, Dr. Katie Milo, was a strong believer in public education and in particular, Chico State. Moyna worked as an elementary school secretary for more than 30 years, supporting teachers and students so they could perform and learn well. An avid reader, she took every opportunity to stress the importance of correct spelling and clear writing. She was impressed by the Chico State journalism program and honored to know Journalism students, with an emphasis in Public Relations, receive a scholarship in her name.
