Elizabeth “Betsy” Van Laan is a faculty emeritus in the School of Nursing having taught Public Health from 1964 – 1988. She received her RN from Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in New York. She was the driving force behind the establishment of the Promotion of Health Program, a campus wellness program, during the 1980’s.
