This scholarship is being established in the memory of Kyle Robert Morton, a seventeen year old, young man who tragically died in a car accident. It is Kyle’s family’s wish to help fulfill another young person’s dream of studying construction management at CSU, Chico as this had been Kyle’s dream for a very long time. Kyle was a hard-working, solid, young man with a simple philosophy in life. The following excerpt was taken from Kyle’s Boy Scout Eagle project and it reflects his philosophy:

“My life goals are not as great as some people. Many people want to explore space, become a famous mathematician or a great athlete. I do not want any of these things. I do not want them because I am not passionate about them. What I am passionate about is construction. I want to follow in my father’s footsteps and build skyscrapers. I have dreamt of this for as long as I can remember. This occupation does not pay as well as lawyers or give me renown as great as a pro football player, but it give me satisfaction, and enough money to raise a family in comfortable surroundings. This I believe is the middle road and that is the road I wish to take. Siddhartha believed this was the best and he experienced all three in his life time. These are the goals that I have set for myself.”
