Joie Armstrong Memorial Scholarship

• Major: in the Department of Recreation and Parks Management.

• upper division undergraduate.

• minimum overall gpa 3.0, as well as in major.

Joie Armstrong was a Recreation student, with an option in Parks and Natural Resources Management, and a minor in Art Studio. She graduated in 1996 and accomplished being on the Dean’s List and served on the CSU, Chico Environmental Council. She was very active in the community which included volunteering her time to provide evening programs for foster and homeless children, worked with developmentally disabled children, and helped develop environmental education programs for local schools. After graduation, she worked with the Marin Headlands and Yosemite Institutes as a naturalist and interpreter.
