Katherine Barbano Memorial Scholarship

• Continuing student entering their 3rd or 4th semester of the Nursing Program in the fall of the award year, with 2 or 3 semesters remaining to complete the program.
• Minimum overall gpa 2.7

• 2/3rds – nurturing, communication skills, commitment to nursing and motivation.
• 1/3rd – scholarship ability

This scholarship was established in memory of Kathie Barbano, who was killed in an automobile accident in 1964, while a student in the nursing program. The donor was a close friend of Kathie’s, who felt the scholarship should be given to a student who exemplified some of Kathie’s attributes, such as compassion, caring, cheerfulness, nursing ability, communication skills, motivation, and commitment to nursing.
