Margaret Trussell Geography Scholarship

Major in the Geography and Planning Department.

Margaret Trussell overcame a significant obstacle in the geographer’s informal “old boys” club to become a successful scholar and academic in her chosen field of geography. She served as President of Pacific Coast Geographers and ultimately received their highest award in recognition for establishing the geographers “Women’s Network” (open to all geographers) she mentored and championed women geographers and left this bequest in her will to continue that effort. Margaret Trussel died in 1999.
